Don Has New Planes?

Rumour has it......

That Don has some new flying machines.  By now i am sure they are stripped of their boxes and are laid out with wet glue on the hinges.

One Tiger and one Delta has been reported missing from Galtech Models and it is stongly suspected that they were still with in the Manawatu area.

Police Constable Mike Tartellin will be on the case as soon as he has finshed building his own model gilder after having a magor wing spar problem on his last model that resulted in the wings breaking in half. (thats what you get for purchasing a model for only $20.00)

LOL !!!!

R/C Proficiency (Wings Badge)

As previously advised, the requirement for the Wings badge to be held by all members has been waived in the meantime and the "Wings" proficiency program is under review.

The outcome of this review will be finalised and approved at the next NZMAA council meeting. In the meantime.

The current rule that a certificate is only required if flying at a full-size airfield or within 4km is, of course, still valid. The test is really quite simple, so why not? Rally and contest organisers may insist on participants holding the Wings qualification. - (Written by Ken Buckley)bentwing

But after much hunting, we find one (Michael in the middle) absorbing some rays. And Don? Doing much the same thing!

Well, its a sad day, this Mentor single engine recon and training master piece lands for the last time.  Strangley though it is being retired in pretty much one piece, unlike so many of its counterparts.

New Zealand Jet Modeller's Association

Recently the jet modelers of New Zealand moved for a name change from the Turbine SIG to be called the NZJMA (New Zealand Jet Modeller's Assoc.).

The purpose behind the change is to better cater for the needs of jet modelers, as the original SIG was more targeted with the responsibilities of operating turbine powered models. As this discipline of aeromodelling is constantly changing and advancing with new systems and methods of operation, there was need to have an association which was more representative of our needs.

Our website at http://www.nzjma.com further explains the purpose and role of this new association and anybody interested in further information with regard to any aspect of jet modelling, can contact their nearest representative listed on the "statement of purpose" page. - November 06 Model Fliers.
